“The race is on the verge of understanding that true death is the immersion of form”. (A Treatise on White Magic, p. 240). Now the word “immersion” is defined in the dictionary as “to plunge into anything that surrounds or covers, especially into fluid…like a baptism by submersion of a person in water.” In the esoteric teachings the word “water” can mean one’s emotional nature or one’s astral body. So this can mean if one is born in a body or form that is focused mainly in its astral nature, then this can be a true form of death. So this would also indicate that being born or incarnated into the physical world, as we all are today, is simply experiencing the process of death. This, apparently, is the understanding of death by the Spiritual Hierarchy of this planet Earth. If you think about it, this definition of death is the opposite—a 180 degree turn—of how humanity, today, understands death. To us in the human kingdom death can be a time of sorrow, a time of grieving when our loved one passes away. We have been born into this one life, as many believe, and at the moment of death it is the end of this one life, our one life, and we shall have no more. At least this is the view of many today.
But of course the opening line above suggests an entirely different view: …”true death is the immersion in form”. This means that when we are born in a physical body we are actually experiencing true death, from the higher spiritual point of view. Then would this be a time of sorrow and not a time of joy; and that what we now call death is actually a time for celebration and of liberation from the form? One would no longer be immersed in the physical body.
“Is it impossible to vision the time when the hour spent on the death bed may be but a glorious prelude to a conscious exit? When the fact that the man is to discard the handicap of the physical sheath may be for him and those around him the long waited for and joyous consummation? Can you not visualize the time when instead of tears and fear and the refusal to recognize the inevitable, the dying person and his friends would mutually agree on the hour and that nothing but happiness would characterize the passing? That in the minds of those left behind the thought of sorrow will not enter and death beds will be regarded as happier occasions than births and marriages? I tell you, that before so very long this will be deeply so for the intelligent of the race, and little by little for all” (White Magic, pp 499-500).
Another quote from Esoteric Healing is also meaningful: “If people but knew more, birth would be the experience which they would dread, and not death, for birth establishes the soul in the true prison, and physical death is only the first step towards liberation. (p. 392/93).
Of course what the esoteric teachings tell us is that we all have had many lives, we have undergone process thousands of times and for some, thousands more in the future. Now this would indicate that we are here on this planet for a deeply spiritual reason and that what we now call death is simply a process we have to undergo to eventually fulfill our divine obligation to whatever is working out on this planet Earth. We are here on this planet for a purpose.
Essentially, our current divine purpose is to understand and radiate the divine energy of Love-Wisdom. At least that seems to be the current intent of God—the divine Creator of Earth. But it will take a few centuries for us to understand and create here on Earth the true meaning of this divine energy that is now flowing into the world. The divine Idea behind Love is far deeper and more expansive than we now understand it; it requires a greater wisdom in building goodwill relationships between all people and nations of the world; to move up in consciousness in alignment with our higher Self or Soul to begin to understand the true meaning of Love-Wisdom and our purpose for being here. We are here to serve this divine Plan
But serving this Plan means that we have to penetrate or incarnate deeply into this dark cave called the human kingdom. We have become immersed in form—incarnated into our personality life. We’ve undergone this process of death as a way of service to the Plan whether we realize it or not. We currently may be serving in a world full of selfishness, divisions, and hatred, creating conflicts and wars in many countries, creating a low expression of the inflowing energies of Love-Wisdom which is producing a worldwide “love of money and the power of money”. But there is also a growing desire by many thousands to serve the needs of the common people by contributing to charities that supply food, housing and medical needs—a positive response to the energy of Love.
This period of conflicts between the good and the bad is a transition period leading into the Aquarian Age—the next two thousand years—in which the energy of Love-Wisdom will produce a much more refined and purified human expression of the divine energy throughout the world, more in line with the Plan of God.
Hopefully, this refinement in human consciousness will reveal this new understanding of death as simply a process we have to go through; not a time for sorrow and pain, but one of joy and liberation, especially of joy if one’s life moves him/her up the ladder of consciousness to align with one’s higher Self or Soul where the true Love of God is known and served. This is our purpose; this is why we are here, to bring more beauty into the world.
Of course this is my opinion and not that of millions of others in the world today. There are still so many questions about this view of death that need answers. For example, when soldiers are killed on the battlefield, should we be joyful that they have all achieved liberation? Will that become the cause of the war in the first place? Another question: In prisons, will the prisoner convicted of murder be executed if death, as we now understand it, gives him liberation from the prison? And this question: will this different view of death change the mind of a shooter who kills another person involved in a conflict? With liberation, would the shooter be joyful, and would it be a crime? If and when humanity accepts this new view of death, will an official order to “kill them” be given out? Probably not, because such an order is more like an act of revenge which is an expression of a low level of consciousness and desire for power. And if and when consciousness rises up, “killing” will drop away and be seen as useless; and in time even the desire for war will disappear. When differences occur among human beings they will be more willing to sit together and negotiate. This will bring more beauty into the world.
This view of death raises so many questions. And these questions won’t be answered until a larger portion of human consciousness reaches a higher peak on the mountain of Light and Love. Like I have said, this is our purpose; it is why we are here on planet Earth: to serve the Loving Plan of God to display great beauty in His Creation. Let us no longer let a misunderstanding of death interfere with this divine purpose.
