There is an ancient belief that Sound is the creative Soul of Divine creation; and that words reveal the rhythmic heartbeat of God. When we join with those Great Beings who have gone before us, we too can participate in and contribute to the great evolutionary pageantry of Life.
Humanity unwittingly confirms this arcane belief through its primary relational tool: words. We understand our thoughts by framing them in words. We remember and assimilate experiences by assigning words. We identify conflicts in life by giving their presence negative words. It is words that inform our sense of justice, highlight morality, establish social mores, make us laugh, revel in the joy of being alive, and validate the highest ideals of Humanity through sound.
Words are powerful tools of human communication. Yet, in one critical arena of greatest human interaction – feelings – we sometimes find ourselves at a complete loss to express through words. The intensity of human feelings overwhelms and precludes the presence of balance in the words expressed.
When we resonate to a particular song or feel drawn into a moving speech is it not because the artist or orator is expressing emotional sensations which we too are feeling? How do we harness this ability to communicate openly and authentically with each other? Through discrimination. Is there a way to access the power of sacred words? Through discrimination.
Words possess power, because words are streams of energy flowing through consciousness. Words can hurt or heal; bring sorrow or deliver joy. Words divide and separate; or conversely include and unite. Words can be shockingly ugly or profoundly beautiful. Words are a universal tool of humanity, a river of pure energy imbued with sound and force by the originating wielder of the words, the human being making the karmic choice of uplifting or diminishing, of light or dark.
Every time we feel, think, or speak we reveal our state of consciousness to ourselves and to each other. When emotions are embroiled in chaos or thoughts invite judgements, we indiscriminately throw out unkind words in a desperate search for meaning and understanding.
When feelings are calm, quieted, when thoughts are centered in the moment, we choose words with mindfulness and intention. Mindfulness is another word for meditation. Intention is another word for directed thought. Mantra is another word for prayer. Prayer, intention, mindfulness all share the same interior space of consciousness with mantra, directed thought, and meditation.
Within every human being there exists the living seed of Divinity, the potentiality of mind and heart imprinted with universal comprehension. This hallowed place, this sacred space, is where the many lessons of discrimination are learnt; and through the experiences of time, and with an abundance of persistence and patience, these lessons can be mastered.
Fleeting temporal sensations, often unpredictable, become enduring cosmic impresses; feelings evolve into a quiet pool of life-sustaining Love; and directed thoughts transform into beacons of Light bathing the outer environment with hope, optimism, and surety of purpose. Unexpectedly, many non-sacred words dissolve and are replaced by sacred sounds of tomorrow’s creation,
This internal practice of discrimination is fundamentally the intentional inner disarmament of selfishness. Energetic transmutations soon reveal themselves through an outer disarmament expressed fluidly in all human relations. Sacred words purposefully take up residence within consciousness bringing fresh meaning and innovative possibilities.
Inclusiveness becomes an organic coalition of diversity. Synthesis is an approaching expression of polarities discovering inner harmonic balance. Unification is then seen as a kaleidoscopic global amalgamation establishing equilibrium within the diverse cultural framework of human uniqueness.
It becomes easy to accept One Humanity, One World, One Life; yet, remains extremely difficult to actually live the vision. Meditation and directed thought open the pathway into the unknown; yet, only grace and courage sustain exploration. Mantras provide the rhythmic sustenance of rejuvenation; and Group Mantras build stamina, forge subjective alliances, and contribute to the creative groundswell of collective coherent movement towards synthesis.
There are many prayers containing sacred words. In the Christian tradition, The Our Father and The Twenty-third Psalm are outstanding examples. In Hindu belief there is the blessed Gayatri. In the Judaic faith, the morning and evening prayer known as The Shema sets a joyful tone to the day; and in Muslim doctrine there is Surat al-Fathia or on the day of gathering, Friday, Jumah. Each one of these prayers shares a common message. They all speak to the One Life, One World, One Humanity.
A well-known Buddhist chant: Om Mani Padme Hum extols the glory and the virtue of simple compassion. In the ancient teachings, there are innumerable mantras which effectively unleash the power of sacred words and more information can easily be found on the Lucis Trust website.
But there is one mantra in particular which touches every human life with Light; and whispers Love to each incarnating soul: The Mantram of the New Group of World Servers.
The global influence of these sacred words in today’s highly polarized world is unimaginable to many people. Yet, thousands of groups – both large and small – use these powerful words daily because they have witnessed the enduring changes of evolution brought about by their sacred sounding.
At five o’clock every day, in every time zone on the planet, men and women of goodwill come together subjectively, focus their attention, link up with directed thought, and sound the clarion call for the coming birth of a new tomorrow.
The Mantram of the New Group of World Servers:
May the Power of the one Life pour through the group of all true servers.
May the Love of the one Soul characterize the lives of all who seek to aid the Great Ones.
May I fulfill my part in the one Work through self-forgetfulness, harmlessness, and right speech.
Take a moment and sit with these sacred words. Experience their deeper message as you repeat them slowly and feel their healing energy. Breathe out their intrinsic goodwill and selflessness.
Does not the lighted power of higher meaning strike a familiar chord within your being?
Are your evolving thoughts not moved towards empathetic utterances for all life?
Is the idea of compassion, given spontaneously to all living beings, becoming a wider stream within consciousness?
Then, please join with the larger global group and use this sacred mantra at five o’clock each day. You will be adding your unique voice to the powerful chorus sounding forth the creative changes birthing One Humanity, One World, One Life. On behalf of the growing world-wide group, welcome to a new tomorrow!
